Accuracy: Where 3D Printing Meets Clinical Dentistry
SprintRay Pro is more accurate than traditional alginate-and-cast methods for model making.Micron-level 3D printer accuracy isn’t achieved by accident. So when we built SprintRay Pro, we sourced the latest technology and wrapped it in the highest-quality materials on the market. Some might call it overbuilt. We think it’s the bare minimum. And judging by the latest accuracy results from Tufts University, we’re confident that it was the right thing to do.
Independent In Vitro Research
Superior Accuracy, Extreme Precision
The study data shows that SprintRay Pro demonstrated both higher accuracy values and more consistent results. This means that printed models will be more accurate, resulting in better fitting parts for better clinical outcomes. This is fantastic news for clinicians, who can have complete confidence in their SprintRay 3D printer accuracy.
Printing and Pouring
A research team at a dental school in Boston, MA, investigated the clinical working time, and accuracy of dental models fabricated using two different methods; 3D printed oral scans and conventional alginate impressions with stone cast.
The study used 9 typodonts as an original source. Each typodont was scanned, then the scanned model was printed. Meanwhile, an alginate impression was taken of each typodont.
Measuring Accuracy
After the replica models were 3D printed and the traditional models were poured from the alginate impression, each model was scanned using a 3Shape Trios intraoral scanner. Advanced modeling software then compared each of these scans to the scan of the original.
The dimensional difference between the golden standard and each of the 9 models for each production method were measured and recorded.
Interpreting Results
According to the results of the study, SprintRay Pro was found to produce more accurate models more consistently than taking an alginate impression and pouring it up in stone.
3D Printer Accuracy is Never Accidental
SprintRay Pro was designed from the ground-up for digital dentistry. We left nothing to chance.
Custom DLP Optics
Maximum accuracy, long operating lifeDigital Light Processing technology offers the best balance between accuracy, speed, and total throughput. SprintRay Pro uses a projector with custom, all-glass optics and undergoes pixel-level calibration to prepare it for the demands of digital dentistry.
Workhorse Construction
Built to provide accurate, predictable resultsThe aluminum load-bearing chassis inside SprintRay Pro is cast and then machined for pixel-perfect precision. The resin tank cradle and Z-axis are integrated into this chassis, allowing for exceptional dimensional 3D printer accuracy.
Materials Science, Down to a Science
3D printing resins you can count onA 3D printer is only as accurate as its materials. SprintRay resins are developed alongside our printers to provide outstanding accuracy. Validated third-party resins are extensively tested by our engineering team to ensure perfect compatibility.
