SprintRay and Carestream Announce Validation and Integration

In News by Tyler Brouwer

The proliferation of CAD/CAM technologies in dental offices continues to accelerate the efficiency, adaptability, and control over patient care workflows. However, the many options available at each step of the treatment process can be daunting, creating a barrier to entry into the realm of cutting-edge digital dentistry. Clear aligner therapy represents one of the most common 3D printing workflows, and allows clinics to unlock huge savings while delivering on a superior patient experience.

This new integration with Carestream can help the thousands of dentists who already own our printers achieve a more efficient aligner workflow. By creating a synergy between Carestream’s CS3600 and 3700 hardware, the CS Model V5+ design software, and the SprintRay Pro 3D printing system, more clinics can benefit from the many benefits of in-office production without the pitfalls associated with stringing together multiple disparate hardware and software ecosystems.

“We’re very proud to announce this integration and validation between Carestream and SprintRay, which will help propel the adoption of in-office 3D printing,” Amir Mansouri, SprintRay CEO said of the news. “We will continue onboarding technology partners to push the boundaries of what’s possible in dental clinics so that our community can continue improving the lives of their patents with greater and greater efficiency.”

Clinical Benefits, Simple Workflow

To leverage this new workflow integration, users start with a scan captured by either a CS 3600 or CS 3700 intraoral scanner. Next, clinicians leverage the latest version of CS Model+ v5 to plan and design the aligner case. Users can then directly import the aligner models into the SprintRay nesting software, RayWare, where AI-driven printability checks ensure proper orientation before printing.

The print job can then be sent to the SprintRay Pro 3D printer, where eight models can be fabricated in less than 30 minutes. Using the SprintRay Pro Wash/Dry and Pro Cure post-processing units, the models can be ready for thermoforming in under an hour with minimal user interaction. Clinicians interested in exploring this workflow further can request a free clear aligner sample or schedule a consultation with our highly-experienced dental 3D printing consulting team.
