Graphic Designer-Product Design Team

The Product Design Team at SprintRay is looking for a graphic designer to help create and standardize product documentation across our portfolio. 

As a graphic designer at SprintRay, you will work closely with the UX content team to create product labels for print, illustrations for user guides, packaging die lines and instructions, and other product-related documentation. 

You will collaborate with the product design team, product marketing, product managers, and engineering to help build the best user experience in the industry.

Responsibilites:

  • Understand and internalize SprintRay design philosophy, apply it to all of your work, and strive to refine and improve it. Your opinion and influence will be essential to the growth of our design philosophy.
  • Work closely with UX writing to concept, iterate, and create documentation with an emphasis on usability and legibility.
  • Collaborate with other members of the design team as well as the marketing team, product managers, engineers, and others to understand requirements and deliverables.
  • Create clean and easy-to-understand line-art illustrations for product packaging and user manuals that will be used in print and digital. 
  • Work with industrial design, engineering, and product design to create product labels and manage assets from conception to production.
  • Create product packaging and first-time setup in collaboration with product design and engineering.
  • Take up the mantle of design and be proactive about applying SprintRay design philosophy to all aspects of what we do.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of work experience in Graphic Design or Communication Design, ideally with an emphasis on print
  • A strong portfolio showcasing print examples and visual communication through a series of vector graphics/illustrations
  • A proven ability to collaborate closely with content creators designers to distill and visualize complex concepts and/or products
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or Communication Design or equivalent
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite with an emphasis on vector design (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign)
  • A genuine interest in learning about the world of 3D printing and a desire to continuously learn and improve
  • A love for the design process and ability to stand up for good design practices
  • Good instincts and the ability to see through to the core of complex problems

 

The salary band that this position falls into ranges from $78,000.00 to $142,560.00, with some differences for locations outside of California. SprintRay uses broad banding. Actual salary is based on position, market factors, location, experience, and qualifications.
